My dad and step-mom recently made a big step, for them, into the world of technology. They bought an iPad. I’m proud of them for trying something new! Of course now, they are experiencing the ensuing “learning curve.”
The biggest learning curve has been remembering how to do something. When dad has a question or problem with the iPad, he takes it to one of the grandkids who have him right as rain in a couple of clicks. But when it comes time to do it again, it’s hard to remember what they did.
Last week, I attempted to give them a tutorial on how to download the PBS app so Betty could catch up on the last Downton Abbey. Over the phone. Over 300 miles away. That’s when I realized that I needed to make them a series of tutorial videos. Thus, the Dad & Betty iPad Tutorial Series was born.
